This is all thats left of a trawler that ran aground in 1976 two men lost their lives. This was shot as you can see in a cloud-less sky, so is a place I'd like to go back to when the tide and clouds are better. Its at Saltwick Bay just south of Whitby.

Got out again this week with a trip up to meet with David Nightingale Here is the first of a few shots i did of this old Jetty at St Annes. I'll be posting a few more from my trip to Robin Hood's bay mixed in with the ones i shot in Blackpool in the next week or so.

This one is a shot i took at Tenby a while back. Please don't ask how i got the image to this point as i dont really know :) It was taken with a IR filter then tweeked in lightroom and PS till it got to this final look. Its a bit of a move from my normal stuff but then im not feeling normal at the moment ;)

This is another image from my trip to Kilnsea and Spurn point. This is a shot of the old WW1 and WW2 fort thats falling into the sea. This is the huge concrete plug that formed part of the gun base. A shot of the other side of this can be found HERE. Thanks again for your comments.

This is a shot i took awhile back of an Ex lighthouse on the end of Spurn point that had been turned into a watertower then left to rot. Still not been out to shoot anything of late, so more of this type of thing to come :)

Not been out for a few weeks so started looking in the folder marked "look again in 4 months time" :) Found this shot of David Nightingale At the time i thought it was a bit too busy. Looking again its sort of grown on me. As you can see Daves hard at work ;) Ive no plans to get out for the next few weeks so a few more from this folder may crop up again.

Losing the battle

Made the trip up to Skinningrove on Thursday not the prettiest coastal town you'll find. It used to be a steel working and mining town. This is of the old jetty that is now just left to fall into the sea as its got no further use.

Had a trip down to London this weekend to meet up with a few fellow photographers from the website OnExposure. This is Colmar Wocke after a meal at Gordon's wine bar in London. Had a great day doing the type of Photography i don't normaly get round to doing. We did spend most of the time in the pub Talking about photography so that was even better :)

Well at last i got off my arse and got out and shot something. Met up with Mal Smart and had a walk around Spurn point I got there at 7am and got the best of the light Mal arrived at 9ish. This shot is of the WW2 coastal defence at Kilnsea.

Taken at noon not the best of light but after walking up to Highspy for most of the day before I was not getting up early for the light :) Wastwater has some of the highest hills in England and is the deepest lake in England.

This is the underside of Blackpools centre pier. The netting is to stop bits of it falling on your head as you walk underneath. I was going to do a colour one of this as the netting is a great green colour but looking at it the green over powered the image so made it B&W.

This is the first of two shots of the Blackpool piers im putting up. I took some shots with my IR filter but the lack of good waves from the Irish sea made it hard to get a good misty feel to them, so this is a HDR image. David Nightingale put my IR filter to good use when we made it to the Wyre wrecks

This was taken on my last evening at Bambugh. Counted at least 8 other photographers around this part of the beach, most of them looking the other way towards the castle. This guy was looking the other way and just standing in the same spot as i was setting up this shot.

This image was taken at dawn on the Tuesday i was away. The south side of Dunsanburgh castle gave better light in my view than the north side i was at on Monday morning. I'll be posting that shot later in the coming week. This was shot taken with a Infrared filter then converted into mono in Lightroom and a final tweak in PS.

My first new photo for whats feels like an age. I've just spent most of this week on the Northumberland coast Had great weather for sunbathing but not for photo taking. This image has me torn in two. Im not a huge fan of the selective colour technique but i think this sort of works, the full B&W image looks a little flat and the full colour one has lots of distracting colour in the background, his heading towards a play area that has a icecream van and colourful swings and slides. The mood of this is more the film Don't look now than Schindler's List. Anyway tell me what you think.

This a shot of a place im planning on going back to sometime soon. Taken on my birthday 2007 on holy isle, only spent a short while at this spot so planning to spend a bit more time at this spot. Not much else to say about this apart from its a 3 stop HDR.

Forgotten in the woods

This was shot on film a good 25 years ago. I have been back to this spot a few years ago, you can see that shot HERE As you see its lost some bits but is still standing proud. This has to be one of the last images i made before giving up Photography (Its a long story im not going to bore you with it now). I restarted taking Photographs about 4 years ago when i got a nikon d70 and its no looking back now.

First off thanks for the warm welcome to PixyBlog and all your comments on my photos so far. This was taken late 2007 at Bromyard England. the sun was just coming out behind me as a rain shower was heading toward me, making the rainbow. so it was a matter of finding a gap in the crop to see it.

Well the weekends on its way so time for a bit of peace. This was taken on the Penbrokeshire coast and the waves where crashing in at great pace, but this long exposure just calms the whole image down to a stillness i think i need right now.

Old and out of work

This image is kind of how i feel at the moment. Striped naked and left in a wood to rot. Having been told this week im going to be out of work in May, after working for 12 years at this company im left a little flat. I've started this blog as something to focus my mind and give me something to do, so untill im out of work most of the images on here will be from my archives. This was shot about 2 years ago having found this tractor about 25years ago i thought id go back to see if it was still intact. The original is HERE Anyway I hope im not left for that long in the woods ;)

First image on the blog. This was a shot i took last year on a trip to the lake district Shot early in the morning at first light. Watendlath Tarn is a one track in and out sort of place by road if your walking then lots of ways to get into it. At first light it has a wonderfull stillness to it, later in the day its full of walkers, hikers and sightseers.
